Queensland Rail has a great opportunity for a highly experienced Contract Manager to provide expert contract management services that will support the delivery of commercially focused contract solutions for Rollingstock in our Rail Operations Projects business.

Your consultative approach and great communication skills will ensure your success in the role as well as your ability to manage conflict with diplomacy and tact.

As a Rollingstock Contract Manager your day will typically involve:

• Provide contract administration of all aspects of development and delivery of multiple contract types.
• Manage stakeholder aspects including pre-tender issues, scope changes, reporting and contract delivery within budget, quality and delivery milestones to achieve stakeholder satisfaction.
• Resolve contract disputes, chair contract meetings and write contract correspondence.
• Develop and enhance contract terms and conditions, along with safety, environmental, and quality standards, specifications and procedures.
• Provide supervision and direction to external contractors and internal service providers in the delivery of contracts.

To be considered for this opportunity you will have:

• High level of skill in the management / administration of contracts, leadership, people management, interpersonal, planning, coordination and negotiation skills.
• High level of skill in meeting statutory, regulatory and policy obligations, particularly in relation to satisfy the safety, environment, contract processes and Human Resource requirements in a commercially focused business.
• High level of skill in negotiating contract terms and conditions, payment and variation claims.
• High level of skill in interrogating Contractors schedules and analysing critical path information, administering and vetting extension of time claims
• High level of skill in monitoring budgets and preparation of contract management reports.

You will have 10 years’ experience in contract management ideally in a Rollingstock environment although other industries will be considered. You must also have a strong ability to prioritise and manage time complimented by strong communication and records management skills.
