We embrace flexible working and are always open to discussing your individual needs so that you get to create your own experience with us.

What will you do?

This is an exciting opportunity to join our water team co-located on site with Sydney Water and our partner Arup in the centre of Parramatta.

Sydney Water supplies water, wastewater, recycled water and stormwater services to more than five million people in Sydney, the Illawarra and the Blue Mountains. Its operations include 30 water and wastewater treatment plants, 260 reservoirs and over 800 pumping stations and 2,400 buildings across 13,000km2 serviced.

Aurecon and Arup recently won a 10-year contract to partner with Sydney Water to build an integrated in-house planning and concept design team and to support technical assurance of the capital program through providing a team of Project Engineers.

As a Project Engineer working with the largest water utility in Australia in a fast-growing city, the opportunities to be involved in an exciting and important capital program with Sydney Water, Aurecon and Arup are immense.

You will be responsible for working with design and construction teams and Sydney Water stakeholders to oversee quality outcomes are achieved on a range of water projects across the Sydney Water region.

We know the work we do is vital in assisting our world’s economic development and, it’s the technical expertise and the depth of knowledge of our people that really sets us apart. Here are the key things you will do to ‘bring ideas to life’.

  • As a Project Engineer you will bring your design management capability to the team to understand the risk and the scope of projects and ensure that work is delivered to requirements.
  • Working with the design team you will bring your construction and site experience into the concept design process for a range of projects. You will support development of Business Cases to initiate delivery of projects. You will facilitate and participate in design and safety review workshops and stakeholder consultation. You will work closely with Sydney Water subject matter experts to ensure the highest quality of project outcomes are achieved.
  • You will oversee and coordinate technical RFI’s and ensure that the solutions meet the intended project outcomes and are within the scope of the work being delivered.
  • You will oversee the quality outcomes of projects from Concept Design through the commissioning and handover to the operations teams. Therefore, your ability to bring an understanding of the full project life cycle is highly valuable.

We know today’s complex challenges can only be solved through bringing together diverse teams of people from across our business, so there will be opportunities for you to apply your skills and creativity to projects in other geographies and markets.

What can you bring to the team?

Firstly, you will share our genuine passion for re-imagining engineering and be someone that actively pursues continuous learning to help shape the future. You will also need a relevant technical qualification and preferably be, or be working towards chartered status. You will have experience in design or design management in the water industry, either with a consulting engineer or on site with a D&C Contractor.

You will hold a current Australian drivers licence.

Our Aurecon Attributes <link> describe the types of people we bring together for clients. We don’t expect you to have all eight of the attributes, but one that is unique to you.

Finally, we value that each of our team members brings something different to Aurecon. We look for people who have had a broad range of experiences throughout their career and can demonstrate how they have worked as part of a team to bring ideas to life. Does that sound like you?
