Powerlink has an opportunity for a motivated and experienced individual to join our Delivery and Technical Solutions Division in a Permanent, Full-Time Project Manager Commissioning Manager role.
The purpose of the Project Manager Commissioning Manager position is to provide project management and commissioning expertise for Powerlink projects, planning and managing allocated HV network engineering projects, as well testing and commissioning activities across the wider project lifecycle in order to deliver all allocated projects successfully.
- Lead a multidisciplinary project team and be accountable for carrying out all of the duties of a Project -and Commissioning Manager for those projects that are specifically allocated;
- Simultaneously manage multiple projects with varying complexity with a primary focus on the more technically orientated High Voltage network projects;
- Develop, implement and manage the project plan as well as the commissioning plan of complex projects and/or a mix of multiple projects in a region across transmission lines, substations, secondary systems and communications, to ensure the project delivery meets the needs of the business;
- Ensure that all projects are carried out in accordance with Powerlink’s project management and commissioning standards, policies and practices, particularly those relating to Safety, Environmental, Cultural Heritage, Purchasing and Contract Administration.
To be successful in this role the applicant will require Tertiary qualifications in an engineering- or a related discipline or an equivalent competency in an engineering or construction discipline supported by the demonstrated capability to manage high voltage network engineering projects, including the construction stages and activities as well as the demonstrated experience in successfully commissioning high voltage assets. You will need to demonstrate an expert level of experience working in a high voltage environment, particularly lines and/or substations, secondary systems (control, metering and protection) and / or telecommunications, managing and performing testing and commissioning including OSTRAC and Outage Management qualifications.
