ABOUT THE ROLE

Working within Moreland’s Development Engineering Team, you will proactively and reactively enforce road works within the municipality.

It requires investigative work through site inspection and the use of Council’s database to ensure works managers follow the correct steps prior to works commencing. You will be talking to contractors, developers and residents daily, to provide advice and education relating to works within roads. You will need to manage your own workload and prioritise tasks when necessary to ensure that time frames do not lapse if a matter is to be heard in court.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM THIS ROLE 

  • An understanding of construction sites
  • Experience in:
    Preparation of infringement notices;
    Preparation of Court briefs
    Presentation in Court
  • Good written and verbal skills to positively deal with difficult situations
  • Customer service skills, able to educate and gain cooperation of people of diverse backgrounds
  • Strong time management skills, able to set priorities and plan one’s own work
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
