Job Description

You will be part of an inclusive and supportive team and get the opportunity to engage with members of the Stonnington community.

As a Street cleaner, some of your day to day duties will include:

  • Maintain the cleanliness of footpaths, streets, laneways and carparks, providing and maintaining a high standard of street cleaning services within the City of Stonnington
  • Maintain relationships with residents, traders, the general public, other Council Departments and represent Council by promoting a good image as a Unit
  • Follow the daily schedule and ensure that the day’s work is completed to comply with ‘Best Value’ specifications
  • Carrying out all duties efficiently, and in a safe and competent manner without risk to yourself or the community

Desired Skills and Experience

To succeed in this position you will need to have:

  • Capacity to perform safe and competent manual street cleaning duties, using hand tools with procedures, manuals and guidelines
  • Knowledge of and ability to comply with Safe Manual Handling Techniques and Occupational Health and Safety standards, policies and practices
  • Ability and desire to provide support and assistance to team members and positively contribute to the team culture.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • A current driver’s license
