Project Engineer 

As a Project Engineer within the Transurban Delivery team, you’ll contribute to making communities stronger by supporting a portfolio of projects across our Queensland road network and infrastructure. You’ll support the delivery of assigned road, bridge and tunnel related projects from feasibility phase through to project implementation and finalisation and on projects with less complexity, you’ll step up and manage projects independently.

The impact you’ll have:

  • You’ll manage or support the delivery of projects ensuring they are delivered on time and on budget with paramount focus on safety and quality with a risk-based approach
  • You’ll provide technical input into design reviews, responding to inquiries from contractors, NCR/ RFI reviews and responses and developing documentation for project variations as required
  • You’ll conduct site surveillance of project activities including safety monitoring, construction methodology, quality and environmental practices and participate in site inspections and investigations as required
  • You’ll collaborate with work permit teams, traffic control rooms and Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR) to coordinate site access
  • You’ll interface with Contractor/s and Asset Managers/ Engineers and represent the interests of the Project Team at coordination and stakeholder meetings
  • You’ll work on Asset Management activities including maintenance and whole of life cost considerations in the planning of projects

The talents you’ll bring:

  • You’ll h hold a tertiary qualification in either of Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and 5 - 7 years’ demonstrated experience working as an Engineer in the delivery of multi-disciplined infrastructure and/or major maintenance projects
  • You’ll be passionate about developing your skills within project management with the ability to step up and lead others as required
  • You’ll have knowledge of and experience using DTMR Technical Specifications and technical publications, including the MUTCD
  • You’ll have advanced knowledge of HSE regulations and procedures and Quality Assurance/ Quality Control principles together with experience in Quality Management
  • You’ll be a proficient user of MS Project and formal training in established project management methodologies, principles and practices such as PMBOK is desirable
  • You’ll hold a valid Queensland driver’s license and Construction Induction White Card and the ability to work across sites and at night/ on weekends as required and in response to emergency situations on a 24x7 basis
