Human Resources Superintendent (Fixed Term) – Capcoal Surface Operations

Anglo American is seeking a highly motivated Human Resource Superintendent to join the Capcoal Surface Operations team based in Middlemount, Queensland. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, you will provide strategic advice and support to managers and employees at the operation while leading and developing the human resource team. This is a dynamic role that includes support across HR in talent acquisition, organisational culture, management systems, performance management, remuneration and reward, HR metrics, employee consultation and employee relations.

Being confident in coordinating multiple priorities, good communication and interpersonal skills and displayed ability to deliver on key performance indicators are essential attributes. You will be need the ability to work autonomously in a fast paced environment and a working knowledge of industrial agreements and processes will be highly regarded.

Key responsibilities will include: - 

  • Provide timely and informed HR advice to management and internal stakeholders
  • Communicate and advise on Anglo American HR systems, processes and projects
  • Oversee HR investigations and workers compensation case management
  • Mentoring the HR team to ensure ongoing capability and career development
  • Effective representation and negotiation with unions and regulatory authorities
  • Analyse and present recommendations based on monthly HR and site reporting

To be successful in this role, you will possess: -

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources Management (or equivalent)
  • Experience in a similar site-based Human Resources Leadership position
  • Understanding of mining legislation and statutory obligations (highly regarded)
  • Demonstrated experience dealing with Unions and Employee Representatives
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to identify, lead and develop talent within the business
