About the role
Alexandrina Council is searching for a qualified, enthusiastic and highly motivated person to join our team in the position of Building Services Officer for a fixed term 3 year period. Under the direction of the Recreational Services Coordinator, the Building Services Officer will ensure Councils programmed maintenance of its buildings and structures throughout our council region are actioned efficiently and effectively contributing to achieve Council's corporate and community goals. This position will act as a mentor and coach, leading and guiding trainees and other staff and actively promote a culture of positive Work Health and Safety.
About You
You will have highly development time management and organisation skills and demonstrate a customer focused resolution approach to work outcomes and service levels. You will hold a current Builders Supervisors licence and have experience in leading and supervising staff. Highly effective communication skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution will be required to be considered for this position.

You will also have:
- Competency in the operation, maintenance and management of carpentry equipment and plant.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and supervising staff including negotiation, conflict resolution and information sharing
- Ability to read, interpret and implement engineering, building and architectural drawings with regard to the asset and infrastructure development.
- Current Builders Supervisors licence
- Car licence
