Leasing and Property Officer

The Position

CSIRO Business and Infrastructure Services (CBIS) has a complex property portfolio of owned and leased facilities that comprises over 1,000 buildings spread across over 58 locations within Australia. These scientific and research facilities are diverse both in location and type. CSIRO Business and Infrastructure Services (CBIS) is chartered with managing the provision, maintenance and operation of all CSIRO’s scientific and research facilities.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Administration Officer who will ensure accurate and timely coordination and oversight of administrative support on behalf of CBIS. You will be the main point of contact for property administration functions and issues relating to the CBIS operations, both from within CSIRO and from external collaborators.

Your duties will include:

  • Provide support to the CBIS Property Leasing Manager in relation to Estate and Asset Management tasks
  • Assist and support contract management for National Contracts, assist with maintaining the pipeline for contracts with a view to renewals and new contracts going to the market
  • Support with the management of systems used by CSIRO and input into assessing the requirements/priorities of existing and new systems for finance reporting, facilities management etc.
  • Support Financial Management, including the preparation and tracking of Opex budgets.  Assist regional staff to track expenditure, including an understanding of future commitments and accruals.

Location:            Black Mountain, Canberra, ACT

Salary:                AU$80K to AU$91K pro rata plus up to 15.4% superannuation

To be successful, you will need:

  • Experience in contract management and procurement activities
  • Ability to manage property administration functions in a complex property environment including prioritising workloads and identifying solutions to multifaceted problems
  • Financial aptitude including the ability to interpret reports, analyse transactions and examine data in programs and spreadsheets
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, and in building productive work relationships with team members, internal and external stakeholders, contractors and clients
  • Sound computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
