CSIRO’s Business and Infrastructure Services (CBIS) group provides safe, fit for purpose facilities and services in an economically and environmentally sustainable manner. CBIS enables innovative science through its services, from reception, to stores and logistics; from office and laboratory accommodation, to the provision of sustainable fleet management. The National Fleet Office supports the administration of CSIRO’s large, diverse and decentralised fleet comprising around 800 vehicles and small boats, via a national fleet network.

As the Coordinator – Fleet Management, you will provide day to day management of the CSIRO wide vehicle fleet and contribute to the strategic direction of the CSIRO wide fleet. The stakeholders you will work with include the CSIRO Business & Infrastructure Services (CBIS) Manager - National Fleet Manager/TAS, other State Managers, Site leaders and Research Operations Managers (ROM’s).

Your duties will include

  • Coordinate the administration functions of the National Fleet Office.
  • Ensure CSIRO is compliant with fleet related regulations.
  • Develop and maintain national guidelines on fleet.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders to influence change.
  • Assist in managing CSIRO’s obligations for procuring, negotiating and managing contracts.
  • Provide input into developing policy relating to CSIRO’s broad strategy.
  • Managing a small team.
  • Other duties as required.

 

Location:       Hobart, Tasmania preferred but other capital cities considered
Tenure:          Indefinite
Salary:           AU$97K – AU$105K + up to 15.4% superannuation

To be successful you will need

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Business Management and/or equivalent experience in a similar industry.
  • Experience in managing and procuring in the Commonwealth government environment and understanding the associated regulatory, compliance and funding issues.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully managing teams through change and continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders whilst providing a customer centric approach.
