We are currently looking to appoint an experienced Sourcing and Category Manager to join our Procurement and Supply Chain team. Reporting to the Head of Sourcing and Category Management for Rolling Stock, Corporate and Technology, your key remit will be to manage the indirect categories with a key focus in the Corporate Division. As a primary interface between suppliers, operational and commercial stakeholders, and the Procurement & Supply Chain team, you will require excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
You will be responsible for ensuring Metro derives maximum value from spend with external suppliers by developing and deploying structured market engagements and ongoing category management strategies. Success in this role will be demonstrated by sustained delivery and management of commercially advantageous relationships and agreements with suppliers. To achieve this you will influence others in a complex commercial environment, while ensuring consistent application of Metro’s values in your activities and decision making.
To be considered, you will have a proven track record of success in strategic sourcing and the development of commercial arrangements in a comparable operational environment, supported by a qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain or comparable Commercial discipline. You’ll be competent in the use of SAP-Ariba or a comparable procurement management system and have intermediate-advanced skill in MS Excel. Candidates with knowledge and experience in managing coporate categories such as uniforms, print, facilities and soft services, Learning and Development will be highly regarded, as will candidates with experience in a similar industry.
