Ships Division, within Defence's Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group, is seeking professional, motivated and experienced Deputy Project Managers to provide ongoing project support to Commonwealth Government's continuous naval shipbuilding projects.  Ships Division is one of the most dynamic organisations within Defence's Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group and offers a rewarding career.

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to be involved in providing support to a number of major Acquisition Projects across the Ships Division, within the Boats, Upgrade and Infrastructure Development, Specialist Ships Acquisition and the Future Frigate Branches.

Ships Division is seeking applicants with demonstrated project management experience, particularly those with experience in and comprehensive knowledge of each stage of the project life cycle and of complex equipment and materiel systems.

Project management experience is required, preferably in the maritime domain, with applicants being required to demonstrate significant stakeholder liaison and strong communication skills.

Employment will be offered on an ongoing (permanent) or non-ongoing (temporary) basis.

Employment offered on a non-ongoing (temporary) basis may become ongoing (permanent) at the completion of the non-ongoing contract. Initial contract period will be up to 12 months with the possibility of extension.
The successful candidate may be required to travel interstate and overseas.
