The role: 

Our Water, Planning and Environment team in Adelaide is growing and we looking for an experienced Senior Contaminated Land Specialist to join us. Agile in approach, you are flexible and thrive on technical and logistical challenges; you provide superior service to clients and develop great relationships. 

You will provide a range of specialist services to clients throughout South Australia and across our national and international network focusing on site contamination assessment and remediation. In addition you will plan, manage and undertake site contamination investigations and studies.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Design, manage and supervise site contamination assessment and remediation programs
  • Complete preliminary and detailed site investigations
  • Manage and implement sampling programs for soil, soil vapour, groundwater, surface water and waste water
  • Manage contracts
  • Collect, collate, analyse and interpret sample data
  • Report on quality control and quality assurance of sample data
  • Prepare a range of site assessment reports

 As the ideal candidate you will have:

  • Significant experience in site contamination assessment and remediation including fuel stations
  • Familiarity with health risk assessments and fate and transport modelling
  • A good understanding of the contaminated land regulatory environment, ideally in South Australia
  • Proven experience in leading a high performing team
  • Previous experience in managing and delivering a range of projects on time and within budget
  • Sound written communication skills with the ability to prepare a range of business documentation to a high standard
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability develop strong relationships
  • Tertiary qualifications in environmental sciences or a related field
  • The ability to travel to client sites and undertake field work in remote locations as required
