The Department of Defence’s Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group manages the acquisition and sustainment of military equipment and services. Spending more than $13 billion, in 2018-19, across a variety of Australian Defence Force programs in locations across Australia and overseas. This unique and exciting role offers an opportunity to provide commercial support to a wide range of leading edge capability programs for Defence.

The Assistant Secretary Supplier Analysis and Engagement is responsible for the delivery of strategic procurement and contracting enabling services and solutions to Defence including financial investigation, performance based contracting, supplier relationship management, strategic panel management, company profiles and supplier intelligence, company scorecard, e-procurement, and supplier quality assurance to assist with achievement of Defence objectives.

The remuneration package includes superannuation, an Executive Vehicle allowance and, where applicable, relocation expenses. The salary component for this position may be negotiated with the successful candidate within the Defence Senior Executive Service Band 1 salary range.

Engagement may be negotiated on an ongoing basis or for a specified term. To be eligible for ongoing appointment, an applicant must be, or intend to become, a permanent Australian citizen. This position is a security-designated position. The successful applicant will be required to undergo a security assessment to the appropriate level.
