The Role
As an Electrical Engineer working in an integrated workforce you will support the Mission System team in prosecuting the electrical engineering assurance plans to aid in assuring the FSP design as fit for purpose. Utilising proficiency in Electrical Engineering tools and concepts, you will analyse and evaluate submarine design artefacts and documentation from our design partner in order to fulfil the Commonwealth’s assurance objectives for the Future Submarine.

The Electrical Engineer will conduct the following activities:

  • Develop analysis reports, perform reviews of submarine design documentation, and develop recommendations to support decision-making, milestone reviews, and government approvals;
  • Investigate and maintain records of program and technical risk, capability assurance, for the support of program reviews;
  • Communicate proficiently with FSP Platform and Combat delivery teams, Navy, the Contractor, and the wider engineering community about Electrical Engineering subjects, including high torque electric machines (especially permanent magnetic machines) and associated inverter drives, power generation, power distribution, electrical protection and power conversion systems, submarine energy storage and charging control systems, electromagnetic interference and electromagnetic compatibility, safety critical control systems, modelling and electrical margins management.
