The Role

Deliver a Combat System (CS) to the Mission System (MS) Director in line with the defined functional accountability. This includes managing and adjusting integration requirements to ensure the CS works seamlessly within the broader MS.

  • Develop, maintain and measure performance against a CS Strategy and plan to ensure Program Strategic Objectives are met via iterative development and integration of the CS.
  • Manage CS budget to ensure capability realisation IAW the Operating Cash Flow and Operating Support Intent through a cost model reported to the Business Director.
  • Manage CS risks, issues and mitigations via reporting to Program Management Director.
  • Manage the CS component of design program using the ‘triumvirate’ of the Design Management Meeting, Design Integrate Project Teams and Points of Contact, working closely with Functional and Project Directors to support coherent delivery of the capability.
  • Manage contracts referring to the Business Director and MS Director for guidance and approval on contract changes.

We seek an outcome focused Project Director with extensive experience and comprehensive knowledge of project management in a highly complex, large scale program and functional experience with Combat Systems in a Maritime environment. Dynamic leadership will provide direction and empowerment, ensuring your people understand and execute their role in alignment with Program Strategic Objectives within the context of Defence strategic direction.
