The Role
SRSPO's Project Management Unit (PMU) is responsible for delivering a significant program of capability acquisitions, including AIR7000 Phase 2 – P-8A Poseidon capability delivery project and common ADF Aeronautical Life Support Equipment upgrades / replacements, over the next 10 plus years. In the near future, this will grow to include the MQ-4C Triton capability upgrade program.

Reporting to the Project Manager, this position leads the ILS management activity for the AIR7000 Phase 2 Program. This role offers the unique opportunity to be a leader in a complex multi-billion dollar acquisition program, with the P-8 Capability being acquired and upgraded under a Cooperative Program with the US Navy.  

You will be responsible for planning and managing resources and workforce, and developing and implementing policy, processes and procedures. This includes the development and management of ILS Concepts and Plans, analyses, and subordinate plans/activities to execute the objectives of the program. 

You will also be accountable for identifying and treating ILS issues and risks. This role will require you to build and sustain effective relationships both internally and with external stakeholders, contracted service providers, and Defence industry. 

About our Team
Surveillance and Response Systems Program Office (SRSPO) ensures the availability and performance of highly complex surveillance and response airborne and related systems for the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) – including the P-8A Poseidon and the AP-3C (Electronic Warfare) aircraft systems.

SRSPO also acquires and supports common Aeronautical Life Support Equipment (ALSE) used on all air vehicles operated by the RAAF, Navy and Army. In the near future we will also support the MQ-4C Triton, a new remotely piloted high altitude long endurance aircraft system.

Our Ideal Candidate
You are a highly effective Integrated Logistics Support Manager/Specialist with experience in ILS management for Defence Acquisition projects (or similarly complex activities).

As a leader or emerging leader in your discipline you will also demonstrate:

  • High level organisational skills, self-drive and initiative with the ability to influence others to achieve tasks and business objectives; and
