The Role
The Director of Logistics Systems Sustainment is one of three Directorates in Logistics Systems Branch whose primary function is to manage the delivery of joint logistics information systems capability to support the ADF.
 
Located in Laverton, Victoria, the principal activities of the Directorate include, but are not limited to:

  • conducting capability life cycle management, in partnership with CIOG, of the joint logistics information systems program including:
    • capability risk assessments and application of service design principles to develop a rolling annual sustainment program
    • management of the sustainment program; coordinating delivery of capability into service, transition to in-service management, and withdrawal of capability
  • providing logistics business processes, procedures, user support, and mentoring in support of joint logistics systems
  • providing strategic advice and guidance to management and stakeholders, and subject matter expertise in systems capability and business processes to other Defence activities, including the Defence ERP Program development and implementation.
  • delivering project management and business readiness outcomes in support of acquisition and sustainment activities
  • providing leadership and professional development support to enable skills uplift to meet the changing business demands of the Command.

The position requires a person who can build partnerships and teams, and manage and prioritise competing demands and deadlines in a high tempo working environment.

The Directorate consists of a blended APS, ADF and contractor workforce, many with deep subject matter expertise and specialist skills. It is agile to meet the changing business demands of the organisation, including embracing ERP.
