About MRPV

Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV) was established to deliver a multi-billion-dollar pipeline of key road projects across Victoria, including new roads, road widenings, new bridges and major freeway upgrades. MRPV manages complex and strategically important road projects from business case development through to completion connecting local communities and supporting Victoria's growing economy.

The Role

The Safety Advisor will be responsible for the implementation of safety strategies and frameworks within a multi-billion dollar program.

As part of the Suburban Roads Upgrade - Northern and South Eastern packages, you will contribute to the improvement of six main roads in Melbourne's northern suburbs, as well as six arterial south eastern roads.

Your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Develop, implement and maintain safety management procedures for MRPV.
  • Provide advice, support and coaching to employees across all aspects of health and safety, including onsite safety requirements.
  • Deliver onboarding safety inductions and other safety training / workshops, assessments and inductions for management and project team members.
  • Collaborate with contractors and undertake regular safety monitoring activities to verify compliance / investigate concerns / conduct due diligence reviews when required.

This is an ongoing position.

About you

Ideally, you will have:

  • Recent experience in a Safety Advisor position within the construction or engineering industry (highly desired).
  • An understanding and a working knowledge of HSE practices, standards and codes.
  • Absolute commitment to safety in everything you do.
  • A relevant degree qualification in a science or engineering discipline would be highly regarded.
  • Further qualification in OH&S will be considered favourably.
