Reliability Engineer

About The Role

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Reliability Engineer to join the Engineering & Reliability team at Wetherill Park.

Our Wetherill Park site in Sydney is our Milk Based Beverages (MMB) hub for the eastern seaboard. The site manufactures fresh and extended shelf-life products, including our short pack format MBB and Ultra Heat Treated (UHT) long-life unrefrigerated milk. This state-of-the-art facility has benefited from past and ongoing large-scale investment and produces 75 million litres of some of Australia's most loved dairy products, including Dare Iced Coffee, Dairy Farmers, Farmers Union, and Big M.

As a Reliability Engineer, you will be working closely with the Engineering Reliability Leader and Coach to support the on-shift Reliability Technicians. Your primary focus will be on driving reliability improvements to the manufacturing lines and processes, while maintaining safety and quality standards. You will play a crucial role in improving the efficiency and performance of the systems by coordinating reliability engineering tasks. Your main aim will be to reduce the number of failures and downtime, which will increase the overall uptime and availability of the equipment. Your efforts will significantly contribute to a more productive and efficient manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

  • Improve workforce productivity through coaching and process improvement
  • Support delivery of the site’s asset care program.  Lead and own asset maintenance plans, identification, and elimination of inherent reliability problems on key lines
  • Provide feedback and support the Asset Care and CI teams in the identification of critical machine spare parts, futureproofing based on non-supported OEM parts
  • Manage contractors ensuring compliance with Bega’s safety policies and site processes.
  • Coach and lead team through change and problem-solving; and engage towards a single vision

About you

  • Previous reliability experience is required, preferably in Dairy/FMCG, with engineering/trade qualifications.
  • Experience in Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • High-level process improvement skills with analytical ability and strategic problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships at all levels.
  • Experienced in coaching/mentoring reliability and operations team members
