The team/department:

You will be joining Western Power’s Engineering & Design team within our Asset Management function. Our purpose is to deliver excellence in engineering by being a customer-oriented provider of high calibre engineering solutions that deliver for our customers and the Western Australian community.  We do this by being Western Power’s source for any technical, engineering or design enquiries and design solution services.

What you will be doing:  

As a Distribution Design Engineer, you will be undertaking a high degree of estimation and complex technical tasks associated with design, construction and maintenance of Western Power or customer facilities connected to the Distribution Network. To assist with investigations and support process improvement.

The skills and experience you will have:

We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:

  • A degree in electrical engineering recognised by Engineers Australia as satisfying the academic requirements for appointment as a professional engineer
  • At least 4 to 6 years demonstrated experience in distribution networks
  • Strong experience in design management
  • Knowledge of Distribution Engineering standards, regulations, and procedures applicable to the Section and Stream is necessary.
  • Have ability to complete project/assignment within specific guidelines.
  • Demonstrated skill in priority setting, activity planning and organizing.
  • Demonstrated skills in problem solving and root cause analysis.
  • Have skill in developing and maintaining work standards.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and conflict resolving skills.
